Analyst in Capstone Logistics' IT Services organization you will be
working in a very challenging and rewarding role performing
Business Analysis duties. You will have the opportunity to work
with teams of professionals implementing solutions to support
multiple business service lines. These solutions are core to
Capstone Logistics' business strategy and will leverage the latest
technologies in analytics, cloud computing, engagement team
collaboration and knowledge sharing. When performing Business
Analyst duties, the BA is primarily responsible for the elicitation
of technical and functional requirements, properly documenting
these as user stories/features/epics, and supporting the
prioritization of these items. Other expected functions of the role
will require a BA to conduct variance analysis, reporting, and
create flow diagrams/mockups. This is not an extensive list, but it
focuses on the main needs for the candidate. The ideal candidate
will be an effective collaborator who can lead requirement
elicitation sessions successfully and properly manage a product
backlog. This is a high-impact, highly visible role that requires a
personable, creative, analytical, results-oriented, and organized
leader. There will be some onsite presence required, and we will
work with the candidate ahead of time to make the proper
arrangements for onsite visits. Business Analyst Job
Responsibilities: The BA is responsible for engaging with
internal/external clients to properly define and document the
stakeholder requirements The BA will work to create properly
documented Epics/features/user stories for project requirements and
gain stakeholder approval to begin development work The BA will
schedule relevant project events and ceremonies, including
refinement and grooming ceremonies The BA role is responsible for
creating, maintaining, and grooming Epics/features/user stories
with Acceptance Criteria The BA will work with teams that are
geographically dispersed and comprised of all disciplines required
to deliver IT solutions for our customers, including architects,
application engineers, quality assurance & testers. Planning for,
monitoring and managing change through formal change management
processes and stakeholder/customer relationship management
including reporting on variances to the approved baseline
requirements and managing the approval or mitigation of these as
appropriate Work with Developers and QA to provide additional
information required for development and testing Communicating with
project teams, management, customers and stakeholders Coaching and
mentoring both customers, vendors and team members in delivery
fundamentals and the benefits to successful requirements gathering
and delivery Proactively identify risks and issues with scope creep
items Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / JOB REQUIREMENTS: Strong analytical and
planning skills/experience with software development projects. Join
critical onsite meetings that require in person presence These
should be minimal and management to provide enough heads up to
properly plan travel Experience with applying and general knowledge
of various analysis and gathering approaches, methodologies and
models. Business Analysis certification is preferred but not
required (ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, CBATL) Experience in data gathering and
facilitation techniques (i.e. meetings and JAD sessions).
Experience with requirements management, use case and modeling
tools. Strong management skills with software development projects.
Leadership and management skills in leading technical personnel
through the delivery of software development projects. Strong
business and systems analysis skills, test planning and testing
skills, troubleshooting skills and experience with numerous
environments and architectures. Ability to apply common,
object-oriented modeling techniques, including UML, use case,
activity and sequence diagrams. Perform additional duties and
functions as required Reviews and edits requirements,
specifications, business processes and recommendations related to
proposed solution Work effectively with product owners to determine
requirements and properly document these Capture functional
specifications and system design specifications Confirms
requirements are met Familiar with managing content on Azure DevOps
Ability to be flexible in your overall commitment to
speed-to-market while aligning yourself with effective project
delivery Quickly understands the business issues and challenges
Identifies client organization's strengths and weaknesses and
suggests areas of improvement Candidate must possess at least a
Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree,
Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering
(Computer/Telecommunication), Business
Studies/Administration/Management, Science & Technology, Commerce
