Job Description:
Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient
Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience:
Minimum 1 year RN experience; Interventional Radiology experience
required License: RN - Single State or RN - Multi-state Compact
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) Must-Have: Interventional Radiology experience;
Vascular and Neurovascular experience preferred Description:
Functions under the direction of the Site Manager. Responsible for
performing a wide variety of clinical procedures requiring
independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization
of equipment for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases.
Responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded
knowledge and experience. Provides patient care with an
understanding of age-specific needs. Addresses biological,
emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family
education needs in providing care. Able to independently perform
job functions. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Completion of competencies related to care. Provides pre- and
post-procedure care of patients for invasive, interventional, and
surgical procedures. Utilizes critical thinking skills. Delivers
patient care in complex, multiple problem situations. Job
Responsibilities: Must be flexible with hours to meet department
needs. Able to work scheduled and on-call hours if necessary.
Understands existing lines of communication and authority, handles
communications properly, and is dependable, cooperative, and
emotionally stable. Introduces self to patient and/or guardian upon
entering room. Transports patients as needed. Provides privacy and
comfort for patients. Assists with maintenance of departmental
records and standards, including compliance with regulations and
performance improvement. Completes necessary paperwork. Answers
department phone properly. Performs quality assurance and quality
control functions as needed. Assists in other areas and departments
as needed. Maintains current successful completion of BLS and ACLS.
Understands scope of service for relevant departments. Assists in
in-service training for other staff as appropriate. Reviews cases
with appropriate physician(s) as needed. Recognizes that total
patient care begins upon arrival and ends when the
physician/patient have the imaging results. Meets service recovery
and customer service guidelines as needed. Quality and Patient
Safety: Verifies patient identity using two identifiers. Verifies
front of patient chart for same/similar name stickers. Verifies
written orders and seeks clarification if unclear. Understands and
complies with verbal order policies. Uses pre-procedural
verification forms when appropriate. Patient Education: Responsible
for educating patients, families, and support systems. Provides
post-procedural home care instructions as needed. Performs other
duties as assigned. Complies with all policies, standards of work,
and code of conduct.
