Job Description:
Job Responsibilities: Perform a variety of diagnostic nuclear
medicine procedures, including imaging, non-imaging, and
therapeutic procedures as ordered by physicians. Prepare, measure,
and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established
protocols and safety standards. Operate imaging equipment (e.g.,
gamma cameras, PET/CT) to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.
Monitor patients during procedures and respond to any adverse
reactions or complications. Adhere to radiation safety standards to
protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
Calibrate imaging equipment and perform routine quality control
checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory
requirements. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
in the hospital’s electronic medical record system (EPIC). Educate
patients about procedures, answering questions and addressing
concerns with empathy and clarity. Collaborate with radiologists,
physicians, and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient
care and workflow efficiency. Comply with all hospital, state, and
federal guidelines including those from NRC, FDA, and The Joint
Commission. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Strong
understanding of nuclear medicine principles, anatomy, and
pathology. Proficient in SPECT, SPECT/CT, and PET/CT imaging
techniques. Ability to work independently and as part of a
multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent
attention to detail, critical thinking, and patient care
skills.
