passionate, detail-oriented, mission-driven Director of Curriculum
& Instruction who is great with people and understands that the
foundation of a great school starts with great instructional
leadership. The Anchor School is committed to our students and
families who expect a safe and supportive learning environment
where all students can thrive. Our instructional leadership team
builds a sense of community within our school and ensures our
teachers have the resources, training, and support they need to
deliver excellent instruction to every student. As the
instructional leader of the curricular program, the DCI directs our
curriculum and instructional practices towards a unified vision of
instructional excellence, supports our school with compliance,
builds relationships with families and students, and cultivates
community-based partnerships. This role allows students and
teachers to thrive in the classroom.The Director of Curriculum &
Instruction at The Anchor School will be on the leadership team of
the school and shall carry the responsibility of instructional
effectiveness within the boundaries of the annual operating budget
and through the organizational structures set forth in the by-laws
of the organization. At a minimum, the responsibilities of the
Director of Curriculum & Instruction shall
be:ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Design and Development--- Oversee the
development, evaluation, and implementation of the school's 6-12
curriculum, ensuring it meets state and school standards and
reflects project-based learning and standards-based learning
teaching practices.--- Collaborate with departments and teachers to
align curriculum goals with The Anchor School's mission and
educational philosophy.--- Integrate technology, project-based
learning, and other innovative instructional methods into the
curriculum.Instructional Leadership--- Provide instructional
leadership to teachers, modeling effective teaching practices and
facilitating professional learning communities.--- Regularly
observe classroom instruction, offering constructive feedback and
coaching to improve instructional quality.--- Promote culturally
responsive teaching practices to support a diverse student
body.Professional Development--- Design and implement professional
development programs that align with instructional goals and
curriculum updates.--- Organize workshops, training sessions, and
conferences to equip teachers with modern pedagogical tools and
knowledge.--- Mentor teachers in instructional strategies,
classroom management, and student assessment.Assessment and Data
Analysis--- Oversee the development and administration of formative
and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and
curriculum efficacy.--- Analyze assessment data to identify trends
in student performance and areas needing improvement.--- Work with
teachers to use data to tailor instruction to meet student needs
and close achievement gaps.Program Evaluation and Improvement---
Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of current instructional
programs and recommend changes for continuous improvement.---
Collaborate with school leadership to update curriculum and
instructional goals based on student outcomes, feedback, and
educational research.--- Ensure that the school's curriculum
remains rigorous, relevant, and engaging.Compliance and
Accreditation--- Ensure that all instructional programs and
curriculum materials comply with state educational standards and
requirements.--- Lead accreditation processes, including
documentation and reporting for state or district-level reviews.---
Stay current with state and district policies, advocating for and
implementing changes as needed.Student Support and Differentiated
Instruction--- Work with teachers to develop differentiated
instruction strategies that address diverse student needs,
including advanced, special education, and English Language
Learners (ELL).--- Promote and support initiatives that foster
inclusive practices and equitable learning opportunities for all
students.--- Oversee interventions and support programs for
students who are struggling academically or require additional
support.Resource Management--- Provide input on the curriculum
budget; managing resources, materials, and instructional technology
for effective implementation of curriculum initiatives.--- Evaluate
and select instructional materials and resources that support the
curriculum and enhance teaching practices.--- Foster partnerships
with educational organizations and local agencies to enhance
learning resources.Family and Community Engagement--- Communicate
curriculum goals, instructional changes, and student outcomes to
parents and community stakeholders.--- Organize informational
sessions and workshops for parents to help them understand and
support the school's educational goals.--- Act as a liaison between
the school, families, and the community to foster a collaborative
learning environment.--- Support the holistic development of 6th -
12th grade students.--- Advise 12-15 students per
year.Collaboration with School Leadership--- Work closely with the
instructional leadership team to align instructional practices with
school goals and priorities.--- Participate in strategic planning
to ensure that curriculum and instructional goals support the
school's long-term vision.--- Advise school leadership on trends
and issues in education that could impact instructional practices
or curriculum design.PBL Curriculum Design and Integration---
Develop and implement a project-based learning framework that
aligns with the school's curriculum and state standards across all
grade levels.--- Work with teachers to design interdisciplinary PBL
units that emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and
real-world applications.--- Ensure PBL initiatives support the
school's mission and educational goals, tailoring projects to
reflect student interests and community values.PBL Professional
Development and Teacher Training--- Create and lead ongoing
professional development programs that train teachers in PBL
methodology, assessment, and facilitation skills.--- Support
teachers in developing effective PBL lesson plans, incorporating
collaborative and inquiry-based instructional strategies.---
Facilitate workshops on PBL best practices, such as student-led
inquiry, scaffolding, and reflection techniques.The Director of
Curriculum & Instruction will perform all other duties that support
teachers, students, and the administration of The Anchor School.

skills that may be required.QualificationsThe ideal candidate has
an advanced degree in education, leadership, business
administration, or some other related field and five or more years
of experience in instructional leadership capacities (i.e.
teaching, department or grade-level leadership, assistant
principal, dean) or nonprofit leadership capacities (i.e. director
or senior level nonprofit leadership). The candidate must be able
to demonstrate alignment to the mission and vision of the school, a
commitment to community stakeholder engagement, and an
entrepreneurial style of leadership in the founding years of the
school.--- Record of producing demonstrable student achievement
gains or comparable results in their current field, required.---
Instructional coaching or mentoring experience, required.---
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook,
required.--- 10+ years of experience in K-12 school settings,
preferred.--- 10+ years of classroom-based experience in secondary
school settings, preferred.--- Parent workshop or engagement
experience, preferred.--- Highly organized and efficient.--- Strong
communicator and collaborator.--- Able to problem solve and think
creatively about establishing systems and structures for new
school.--- Has demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional
teams.--- Able to coordinate multiple moving parts, and multiple
tasks, on a daily basis.--- Background check passed, required.---
Georgia Educational Leadership certification/endorsement (or on
path to earning), required.Additional InformationStart Date: July
1, 2025Starting Salary Range: $70,000 - $130,000Other Benefits: We
