Job Description:
Shift: Compensation: Competitive JOB SUMMARY: The benefits
specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of
all benefits, and retirement programs, including medical, dental,
vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k)
plan, LOA, and Medical Support Orders (MSO’s). SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities: Ensures the
accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors
with accurate eligibility information. Conducts benefits education
portion of new hire orientations in conjunction with the HR
Generalist. Assists with open enrollment process, including,
communications development and distribution, OE system testing, and
educational webinars. Performs quality checks of benefits-related
data. Monitors Benefits Department email and assists employees and
managers with their benefits questions or issues. Provides
additional assistance when employees are experiencing issues with
insurance carriers. Processes and administers leave-of-absence,
accommodation requests, and applicable disability paperwork.
Manages the MSO Process (Medical Support Orders). Assists with ACA
compliance and management of 1095C’s. Responds to 401(k) inquiries
from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes
and contribution amounts. Processes some of the department monthly
invoicing. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: education
and/or experience: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Employee
Benefits experience required, ideally in a medium to large rapidly
growing organization. SHRM-CP or PHR preferred. CEBS and/or
Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave
administration a plus. knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge
of employee benefits and applicable laws including leave
requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA,
and other applicable leave laws. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving
skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. physical
requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a
computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. LI-JM1 CB
