Job Description:
A purpose-driven organization focused on advancing equity and
regional prosperity is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Finance Operations Manager to join its team. This position plays a
key role in managing financial workflows, ensuring compliance,
optimizing systems, and supporting cross-functional operations
across the organization. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the
Finance Operations Manager will oversee financial processes, data
systems, reporting, and team coordination, all while ensuring
smooth and accurate operations in a fast-paced, mission-focused
environment. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Compliance
Lead the development and implementation of internal financial
processes and procedures Collaborate with cross-functional teams to
forecast financial activities and generate monthly and ad-hoc
reports Monitor transactions for compliance with regulatory and
organizational policies Manage data integrity in the organization's
financial systems, ensuring timely and accurate documentation
Review and approve payment requests and documentation for accuracy
and policy adherence Maintain oversight of system coding structures
and support team members with financial systems use Reporting &
Analysis Track financial contributions and align with budgetary
planning Assist in developing and monitoring program and
operational budgets Review financial reporting packages and follow
up on discrepancies or compliance issues Prepare data for tax
filings, audits, and organizational reporting (e.g., board reports,
annual reports) Support year-end reconciliations and manage
recurring financial processes such as distribution schedules Grants
Management Develop, maintain, and improve grantmaking processes,
policies, and systems Coordinate with program teams to forecast
grant activity and prepare related financial reports Conduct
compliance checks on grant recipients against relevant watchlists
(sanctions, political exposure, etc.) Ensure accuracy and proper
documentation of grant data within the CSuite platform Review and
validate payment requests, award letters, and grant agreements
Serve as the main point of contact for system-related inquiries and
staff support Respond to donor and grantee inquiries and
troubleshoot issues as needed Process Optimization & System
Management Lead initiatives to digitize workflows, streamline
operations, and improve financial system usage Maintain financial
documentation and record-keeping protocols Standardize procedures
and policies related to finance-related data and transactions
Support tax documentation and year-end reporting processes for
stakeholders Team & Project Leadership Supervise and guide a team
focused on administrative and system support for financial
operations Lead training on internal systems and ensure continuous
learning across the team Provide coaching, feedback, and
professional development for team members Collaborate across
departments to maximize efficiency and consistency in financial
workflows Champion continuous improvement initiatives and best
practices in financial operations Qualifications Bachelor's degree
in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
6 years of experience in financial operations, systems management,
or a related role Proficiency in financial and CRM platforms (e.g.,
CSuite, Foundant, Salesforce, or similar) Strong understanding of
financial compliance and reporting standards Proven leadership and
team management skills Exceptional organizational, problem-solving,
and communication skills Commitment to equity, inclusion, and
